Range of use - Waste water treatment plant of high capacity

 

Mega USBF - WWTP (waste water treatment plant) is monoblock wastewater treatment plants, designed to treat the biggest volumes of wastewater, in the region of 1,000 PE to 500,000 PE – people equivalent. Their capacity is sufficient for vilages, towns, cities and metropolis. This type of plants is designed for the treatment of practically all kinds of biologically contamined wastewaters, both of municipal and industrial character.

The use of the Mega USBF - WWTP system for reconstructions of old WWTP for the purpose of their intensification, both in terms of enhancing their capacities and the efficiency of treatment, is quite unique and does not require an additional enlargement of the WWTP sites.

A simple and flexible design of the technological inside structures enables a reconstruction of sedimentation and aeration tanks of conventional plants into treatment units - monoblock reactors. This concept achieves great investment savings, both with constructions of new and reconstructions of classic treatment plants making the construction markedly simpler and shorter.

 

Technical design description

Mega USBF - WWTP only differ from smaller systems in geometry of the technological inside structure. Instead of conical shape it is used prismatic one, that creates a functional spaces for biological treatment processes within the basin. The modular character of monoblock WWTPs allows considerable capacity flexibility, while maintaining its easy transportability and a enable speedy assembly of the entire plant anywhere in the world. Mega USBF - WWTP type integrates in a single basin all decisive purification processes. With series Mega USBF - WWTP the technological inside structures are usually inserted into the squared concrete basins. However the flexibility of inner structure geometric layout allows use even circular basins and can be adjusted for variety of these basins depths. It is designed in a way that individual parts can be removed for repairs without service interruption. The aeration system fulfils the most demanding requests for efficiency of oxygen transfer as well as demand for economy and reliability of operation. For tertiary purification procedure is used microscreen which remove residual undissolved elements and phosporus. Mega USBF - WWTP are very compact and require a much smaller built-up surface then classic treatment plants of conventional type. They enable designing of an impressive industrial architecture of the entire treatment plant site and its perceptive integration into the landscape. A WWTP site may be partially or completely roofed according to the customer´s demand.

 

 

Mega USBF - WWTP advantages

High treatment efficiency: - Using USBF technology achieves quality treated water suitable not only for direct discharges into sewage system but also suitable for recycling for various technological purposes. The parameters of treated water meet limits of government regulations, without any problems. Purification effect of Mega USBF - WWTP is very high and it is in range of 90 to 98%, (BOD5 cca 95 %, SS cca 90 %, NL cca 95 %, N-NH4 cca 98 %).

 

Low initial costs

Mega USBF – WWTP have less demand for built-up area then classical plants, there are no need to build primary sedimentation basins. For these reasons there are significant financial savings.

  

 

Low maintenance cots

Minimum personnel requirements, low electrical power consuption, autoregulatory process, small volume of excess sludge production, provide very favorable operating costs.


Design flexibility

USBF technology is one of the most appropriate technology for reconstruction and intensification of old WWTP. Installation of technological inner structures into already existing tanks can increase its capacity by up to 40%. Therefore there are no needs build new reservoirs or expand existing reservoirs.


Hydraulic flexibility

In areas with significant seasonal population increases the inner technological structure can be divided into several corridors. This system enable to operate the appropriate number of sections.

 

Complete exclusion of odours

Aerobic treatment principle used in our WWTPs completely excludes the rotting processes, which are the source of odours.

 

Operational reliability

Either, simple structure of our plants and its yearly proven design, ensure high reliability and quality of our service


Description and other parts of large WWTP

There are other civil structures following the technology requirements:

The production of excess sludge is minimized due to the used process of low loaded activation.  The principle of treatment allows a complete aerobic stabilization of the sludge, with no further need for extra sludge stabilization. The sludge is pre-thickened in the sludge pre-thickener installed in the nitrification zone of the reactor. The sludge is then pumped to the sludge holding tank where it settles and thickens to about 3% of solids. The supernatant water is manually pumped back to the splitter chamber. The sludge is pumped from the storage tank to a dewatering room equipped with one centrifuge and flocculent dosing stations. The final sludge is dewatered to 20% of solids and further disposed on sludge drying beds or other according to the local legislation. .

In implementation of plants it is necessary to perform the contracted rate structure and schedule subject to contract. The main conditions to be met at the site of installation, to install it efficiently and optimally.

 

Positive effects on the environment

Reducing the amount of pollutants in the wastewater to the water flow, directly improves the general health of the people of the region and its surrounding municipalities. It reduces the possibility of contamination of drinking water and process water used for irrigation, thus improving the quality of agricultural products obtained. With the construction of the new WWTP, technical water that occurs after the refining process can be recycled through a new system of technical water, where the water is mostly used for irrigation allowing for greater utilization of the water resources of the municipality. In addition to technical lead, after working as a product of plant remains and biomass, which is fully biologically treated and can be used for production of compost - organic fertilizer. Commercialization of this process may lead to additional revenue for the facility to shorten the period of cost effectiveness. By following EU regulations on waste water treatment, municipal investment rating improves and increases the opportunities for direct foreign investment .
