Energetics | Pelleting of biomass | Pellet plant WOOD 2000

 

We present the following the complete technology for the production of pellets from biomass (beech), with drying process included. Production level of plant depends on the drying properties of the furnace and biomass. Capacity of pellet plant is 2000 kg/h, which is the production under optimal conditions, the production capacity under 500kg/h is consider to be impractical. DIN plus Standard and EN plus A1 and EN plus A2 standard of the pellets can be obtained depending on quality of biomass. This document contains all the basic information about the system pelleting.

Production per hour:

  • 2000 kg/h of pellets (diameter of 6.0 mm or 8.0 mm) maximum pace of production of 2200 kg/h under optimal conditions;
  • The pace of production 250 days a year, 2 shifts a day;

 

Input material:

  • Wood chips, granulated wood biomass maximum humidity up to 60%;
  • During the production cycle, about 12m3 must be continuously available for entry into the pellet system
  • Optimal properties of chopped wood biomass density of 347 kg/m3 for 30% moisture;

 

Electricity :

  • Installed capacity of 420kW - electrical device in the plant should be >450kW, to cover other supply:
  • The efficiency rate of 0.8
  • Specific electricity consumption of 136 kWh for 1,000 kg of pellets

 

Heat :

  • The offer includes furnace of 1000kW capacity that supplies rotary drum dryer with heat energy required for drying parts and supplies biomass heat production space. If it is necessary to supply additional heat we can provide furnace with higher heat load. Implementation is done in order to meet the customer's needs.


Operation of the Plant

            Using a hydraulic jack and a snail conditioners, the wood biomass (wood chips) is transported to a container for dispensing. Material that is not fragmented and torn, is transmitted through the conditioner out of the container and conveyor transfer in a dispersion chamber, and that further ground wood biomass. Afterword’s conditioner system implement wood biomass to rotary drum dryer, which receives heat (steam) power from pellet burner. Part of drum dryer is installed a special security system for extinguishing fires, how to prevent fly-solid particles from the fiery furnace in the dryer. At the other end of wood particle flow is the cyclone, which carries out under pressure evenly grinded wood biomass to cyclones. Cyclone separates materials to perform useful - pieces of dry biomass that is over 3mm in size and fine dust, which is undesirable in the pelleting process and excess dust is stored in a separate small container. Solid biomass components are implemented back to a mixing tank to the crusher, where large chunks of wood chips are stored. Fine biomass after drying is fed to a container which stores dry pulverized wood biomass. Conditioners have a wood biomass dosage mechanism before entering the pellet press to evenly distribute biomass to pellet press. After pelleting process pellets are transported in counter flow cooler, which cools the pellets produced at a certain temperature and after sorting on vibrating sieve, the transported material is stored in the container before packing process, with the semi-automatic packing machine. Material that is surplus and captured in special containers can also be used, or as fuel for the stove or go back to pelleting process. In accordance automated synchronization process comes the main control console, control valves, sensors, cables and drying. In the process of drying temperature sensors and control the amount of material needed for combustion, to prevent the accumulation of heat and flame to obtain
