In 2004, the GREEN GROUP has enforced construction of biogas plants. Biogas plants using controlled process of anaerobic fermentation for safe and efficient production of biogas for thermal, cogeneration purposes, or usage in CNG vehicles infrastructure.


Current situation support for biogas plants has unclear future, and therefore the emphasis is on projects of biogas plants that are of interest to investors without investment subsidy support. The energy in biogas projects in most transformed into output products, and electricity and heat, and these energies are represented in approximately the same proportion.

The basis of the functional biogas plant completed by the effective use of technology for producing thermal energy such as:

  • Distribution of pre-insulated pipes with heat transfer stations, allowing maximum heat transfer,
  • Steam power units of heat produced electrical energy,
  • Using heat for drying of agricultural commodities or digestate in the production of energy pellets
  • Thermic stabilization and sanitation of input materials eg increase the yield of inputs

The principle of anaerobic fermentation

Using anaerobic technology, the organic material decomposes with the help of microorganisms and changes into biogas that can be used for cogeneration – simultaneous electric and heat energy production. Fermentation improves the homogeneity of the substrate, reduces odor and greenhouse gas emissions. This process can be any organic substrate, such as animal waste, biomass, organic household and industrial waste, sewage, etc

GREEN GROUP is working with the biogas top companies and institutes such as BIOCONSTRUCT GmbH, EMPLA, BAUER Agrotechnics and others, which has the technology of biogas plants for many years of experience in handling a wide range of raw materials and their "know-how" based on a large number of quality references.


We are using a two-stage wet anaerobic fermentation technology with condition that electric power has to be greater than 150kWe. The technology is applicable for the treatment of solid and liquid manure, specifically grown biomass as well as a wide range of biological waste. The fermentation process is carried out in the liquid state in a separate reinforced concrete fermentation tanks with mounted gas tanks elastic membrane system.

All fermentation tanks are designed to be heated. Stations are equipped with large-capacity paddle agitators and they are suitable for processing of high levels of problematic biomass, such as grass silage in amounts up to 90% of the biomass charge. Transport of material in the equipment is a central pumping station with a reliable and efficient pump. The output from the biogas can be separated into solid and liquid portion, and further used in agriculture, compost, or to enter in process of conversion to biofuels. Solid portion is organic fertilizer suitable to change chemical fertilizers, while liquid phase is suitable for irrigation.

The resulting biogas is processed in cogeneration units. According to the customer's needs, we use only electricity, but also valuable heat from cooling cogeneration units. We offer possibility of using the excess heat to the other electric energy production, drying, heating of buildings, etc. For better energy balance, for more usage of biomass energy we implement straw biomass furnaces as addition to usage of heat power.


Technology optimization is achieved by own power around 5-6% of production and high operational stability. Technology units can be handled in a stop or a modular system (containers). The control system of the biogas plant enables full remote access and control via the Internet.


The advantages of technology

  • Robust dosing equipment for biomass processing offer a wide variety of dry matter and structure of biomass as inlet for biogas process,
  • The involvement of the metering equipment to all major fermentation tanks to minimize the impact of outages and service equipment allows power increase station up to 25% without building additional reservoirs,
  • Mixing system is formed paddle stirrer and propeller mixers. This offer solution for problems with mixing crusts grass, manure, etc. Engines paddle stirrers are located outside the tank for easy servicing and cleaning,
  • Each fermentation tank is equipped with its own heat exchanger allowing full operation of the device without interruption in the event of outages / service one of the tanks,
  • Multiple heat sources for biogas tank can be used,
  • Stainless steel fermentation tanks heating with high durability and heating built into the fermenter reducing the hydraulic resistance of the mixing of the digester
  • Stainless steel aboveground gas distribution,
  • Concrete mast gas tanks, wooden support beams, double solid airborne roof of the gas tank to prevent collapse during high winds and increasing equipment life,
  • Reliable pump with central screw pump with galvanized or stainless steel manifolds
  • Own visualization and control system station with full remote access over the Internet to check and control the entire biogas plant
  • "Peaking" electricity generation parallel and island operations
  • Simple modular expandability device

Additional inputs and municipal biogas plant

This is a favorable alternative for the treatment of municipal bio waste (landfill gas), sludge from sewage treatment plants, food waste, animal waste from slaughter industry and oil from catering establishments and factories, expired food, communal green, etc.


Before fermentation of substrate it is needed to analyze biomass in order to conclude if biomass meets the European Commission Regulation EC 1774/2002 the amended EC 208/2006. Equipment sanitation is part of our own research and production companies GREEN GROUP. Fermented substrate of the composition can be used as fertilizer for public green areas and agricultural land as well as inert material for reclamation, etc.
